On Wednesday, a crack suddenly appeared in the four-lane road adjacent to the Dhoba bridge leading from Biharsharif to Bakhtiyarpur. However, no untoward incident took place in this incident. The information about the crack in the road created panic among the officials. The concerned department officials immediately reached the spot and as a precautionary measure stopped the movement of vehicles on one lane of the four-lane road. Actually, a few days ago there was a technical glitch in Dhoba bridge (number 150) of Bakhtiyarpur-Rajauli four lane. Repair work was going on to repair the bridge. Meanwhile, a crack appeared in the road adjacent to the bridge. Along with the bridge, repair of the road was also started.
It will take time to build the bridge
After cracks appeared in the road, the authorities made the four lane one-way for one kilometre. Due to the road being one-way, there were long queues of vehicles. Vehicles going from Bakhtiyarpur towards Biharsharif had to face a lot of trouble. Due to long traffic jams, vehicles kept moving forward at a crawl. Whereas vehicles going towards Patna and Mokama were diverted through an alternative route. Pankaj Kumar, the worker doing the work on the bridge, said that the bridge had got buried due to a technical fault in the bridge. It was being fixed. Meanwhile, a crack appeared in the road. The bearings under the bridge slab are being checked to reduce the load on the road. According to other workers engaged in repair work, it may take about one to one and a half months to repair the road. Police station head Devanand Sharma said that the movement of vehicles is continuing by putting a block on the northern border of Nalanda.
