Did Sonam Wangchuk eat food in the hospital or not? It has been revealed
The Union Health Ministry released an update on the health of social worker Sonam Wangchuk on Saturday night. Wangchuk is currently admitted in Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi. He is conscious and blood circulation is stable and his pulse, blood pressure and oxygen saturation are currently at normal levels.
Safdarjung Hospital said, however, that Sonam Wangchuk has shown signs of dehydration. It further said that given the prolonged fast, Wangchuk’s condition requires immediate medical attention to prevent further deterioration and serious complications.

AIIMS Delhi team is also monitoring
The hospital further said, ‘An independent expert from AIIMS Delhi examined Sonam and agreed with the assessment of the treatment team that her immediate oral/intravenous fluid and electrolyte therapy was medically necessary. An AIIMS doctor has also joined the treatment team and will be continuously available for monitoring and clinical management of Sonam.
Sonam Wangchuk refuses to take all medicines
Safdarjung Hospital said, ‘Despite repeated counseling by the treating team and independent experts about the immediate need for treatment, Sonam Wangchuk has refused to take intravenous fluids, oral rehydration solutions and all medications. The patient’s family has also not yet given approval for the medical help mentioned.

Efforts are being made to advise the family
The statement further said, ‘The patient is still under close medical observation. The treatment team is trying its best to counsel the patient and his family so that they give consent as soon as possible and accept the prescribed treatment, so that their health is protected and avoidable problems can be prevented.
