After his recent 'Goonj' program held in Pune, his close ones are leaving no stone unturned to present him as a big face for the post of PM and a hero like Batman. However, on the other hand, BJP has come out with a list which has created panic in the Congress camp. BJP claims that Rahul's program was a complete flop and no one else but his own party leaders had cheated him.
Our own people turned away on social media
BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari alleged that senior Congress leaders are not giving any importance to this Pune event of Rahul Gandhi. At a time when the entire politics is based on the battle of narrative, many senior leaders did not even post a single post about this program on social media.
Citing figures, BJP claimed that out of 249 Congress officials, only 113 posted on 'X' (Twitter), while on Instagram this figure came down to just 48. There were about 83 leaders who did not even mention this program on any platform. BJP says that CWC members like Manish Tiwari, Charanjit Singh Channi and Ajay Maken also kept distance from this event, which makes it clear that Rahul Gandhi is not being accepted as the leader of GenZ within the party.
Why suddenly remembered OBC card?
Amidst these sharp attacks by BJP, Rahul Gandhi has once again played the card of OBC and caste census to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge have written a letter to PM Modi raising questions on the ongoing caste census process. Critics say that the Congress, which was earlier alleging that the government was running away from the census, is now busy finding shortcomings in the process once it starts.
What questions were raised in the letter written to PM Modi?
Rahul Gandhi has said in his letter that accurate counting of castes is not possible through open-ended questions and this method is quite misleading. If every person registers the caste name as per his own wish, then the same caste will be divided into thousands of names according to different regions and sub-castes. This will make the entire data useless and the actual population of OBC will not be known. Rahul Gandhi has suggested that the government should scrap the existing questionnaire and use a drop-down list, as was done in the caste surveys of Bihar and Telangana.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh has also advocated adopting the model of Bihar and Telangana in the 2027 national census. However, on this entire issue, Rahul Gandhi seems to be surrounded by his own old statements. Political experts are reminding that the Bihar caste survey which Rahul is recommending today, when he went to Patna last year, he had publicly termed it as 'fake' and 'fooling the public'. Now, after praising the same process, many questions have started being raised regarding his changed attitude.
