DigitalPaani Bags ₹22 Cr To Expand Water Management Platform

SUMMARY

Watertech startup DigitalPaani has raised ₹22 Cr in a funding round led by Navam Capital, with participation from Enzia Ventures, Chakra Growth Capital, 3one4 Capital, among others

The fundraise comes as growing water stress and tighter environmental norms drive demand for technologies that can improve wastewater recycling and the utilisation of existing water infrastructure

DigitalPaani plans to use the capital to expand across industrial and municipal markets, scale its operations, and enter international markets

Watertech startup DigitalPaani has raised ₹22 Cr (about $2.3 Mn) in a funding round led by Navam Capital. Enzia Ventures, Chakra Growth Capital, 3one4 Capital, Momentum Capital, Achieving Women Entrepreneurs Early Growth Fund, and Echo River Capital also participated in the round.

The startup did not disclose the funding round’s stage or its valuation.

DigitalPaani plans to use the fresh capital to expand across industrial and municipal markets, scale its operations to serve more institutional customers, and enter international markets. It will also deploy part of the proceeds to strengthen its core operations.

Founded in 2020 by father-daughter duo Mansi Jain and Rajesh Jain, the Delhi NCR-based startup operates an AI- and IoT-powered software platform that helps businesses, utilities, and municipalities manage water and wastewater infrastructure.

The platform collects real-time data from water assets and compares their performance with their designed operating parameters. It then identifies the causes of operational inefficiencies and helps automate processes such as equipment management, maintenance, inventory tracking, and coordination among service teams.

DigitalPaani’s technology is used by sewage treatment plants and other water facilities to increase wastewater recycling, reduce operational losses, and prevent avoidable breakdowns. Its platform also offers real-time water tracking, predictive maintenance, and workflow management.

The startup claimed that 75% of critical water assets in India, including sewage treatment plants, operate at severely reduced capacity because of operational challenges rather than equipment failures.

DigitalPaani currently serves more than 95 facilities across India, which collectively treat over 150 Mn litres of water every day. Its customers include Britannia, Leela Hotels, Tata Group, and Delhi Jal Board.

It claimed its deployments have helped make non-compliant plants fully operational while reducing costs by 25%. DigitalPaani added that its revenue has grown nearly sixfold over the past two years, without disclosing the figures.

The startup was also recently recognised by UpLink, the World Economic Forum’s innovation platform, for its water management technology.

The fundraise comes as water shortages, tighter environmental regulations, and a growing emphasis on reuse increase demand for wastewater treatment and recycling infrastructure from Indian cities and industries.

India’s wastewater treatment market was valued at $10.4 Bn in 2025 and is projected to reach $19.4 Bn by 2034, growing at a compound annual rate of 7% between 2026 and 2034, according to IMARC Group.
