A high-profile international seminar in Bangladesh turned into a diplomatic flashpoint after the Indian government lodged a strong objection to the display of an incorrect map of India. The controversial map, which erroneously depicted the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan, was showcased during a prominent keynote presentation.

Addressing the presenter and the organisers directly, Pooja Kumari Jha stated, “The map of India displayed here is incorrect. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inalienable part of India, and I believe the map presented here is not accurate.”
