Before the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Congress has made a new political beginning by changing the leadership. Aradhana Mishra Mona has been given the command of State Congress in place of former state president Ajay Rai. The party hopes that under his leadership the Congress will regain its lost political ground in the state. But after becoming the state president, many questions have started being raised regarding his political activities and preparations of the organization. Aradhana Mishra's activism is visible in meetings and political programs with the central leadership of Congress in Delhi, while the challenge of strengthening the organization from the State Congress Headquarters in Lucknow to the district and booth level remains.
Aradhana Mishra had taken part in the Congress protest march in Lucknow on 8 October. On October 23, a meeting was held with the officials of the media department at the state Congress headquarters and the party's strategy was discussed. Despite this, questions are being raised regarding the reorganization of the state organization, appointment of district presidents and election preparations at the booth level. There is not much time left for the 2027 assembly elections. In such a situation, the biggest question before the Congress is whether the party organization under the leadership of the state president will be able to prepare for the electoral contest in time?

Aradhana Mishra, will Congress be able to handle it?
After Aradhana Mishra Mona became the state president, her activism is in discussion with the central leadership of Congress. Meetings with top party leaders in Delhi, brainstorming on organizational strategy and participation in national level political programs are part of his political agenda. His presence at the Congress protest march in Lucknow on 8 October attempted to sharpen the political opposition to the party.
On October 23, a strategy was prepared in a meeting with the media department at the state Congress headquarters to raise issues against the government among the public. But in a big political state like Uttar Pradesh, the responsibility of the state president is not limited only to coordination with the central leadership. It is equally important to make the state Congress headquarters in Lucknow the main center of organizational activities, increase the party's activism in the districts and prepare a strong team for the assembly elections.
Appointment of district and city presidents is the biggest challenge
The biggest organizational challenge before the Uttar Pradesh Congress is the appointment of district and city presidents and restructuring of the organization. Before the assembly elections, the party needs new leadership in many districts. There is talk of working on a strategy to remove inactive officials and give responsibility to active workers. There are 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.
In such a situation, there will be a need for strong organization, active workers and election team at booth level in every assembly constituency. Delay in the appointment of district presidents and weakness of the organizational structure may affect the election preparations of the Congress.
The challenge for Congress is not only to appoint office bearers but also to activate them with electoral responsibilities. If the party is not able to prepare the organization at the assembly level in time, then it may have to face difficulties during the elections.

Factionalism after Ajay Rai, the litmus test for the new leadership
After the change of leadership in the State Congress, the challenge of factionalism and coordination within the party has also come to the fore. The incident of dispute and fighting among supporters during the taking charge ceremony at the Congress headquarters in Lucknow had raised questions on the unity of the organization. The biggest challenge before Aradhana Mishra is to establish coordination between the old leadership and the new officials.
Taking Ajay Rai's supporters along and maintaining discipline within the party will be an important test of his leadership. If factionalism and infighting continues within the Congress, it can have an impact at the district and assembly levels as well. In such a situation, it will be an important responsibility for the state president to unite the party and launch it in the election campaign.
Alliance with SP, claim for seats and strength of organization
The alliance with Samajwadi Party is being considered an important part of Congress's strategy in the 2027 assembly elections. To claim seats in the alliance, Congress will also have to show its political and organizational strength. If the party's district and booth level organization remains weak, Congress's claim in seat distribution may be affected.
In such a situation, Aradhana Mishra faces the challenge of strengthening the organization as well as working on the strategy of the alliance. Congress will have to prove that it is not just a party contesting elections with the help of alliance, but also has the ability to create a strong political base in the state on its own.

Aradhana Mishra's real test in the battle of 2027
Aradhana Mishra Mona has political experience. She is an MLA from Rampur Khas Assembly seat of Pratapgarh and has also held the responsibility as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party. His biggest test as state president is to establish Congress as a strong electoral organization in Uttar Pradesh. Coordination with the central leadership in Delhi, activation of the state headquarters in Lucknow, appointment of district presidents, team of workers at the booth level and strategy of alliance with SP, work will have to be done rapidly on all these fronts.
The success of Congress in the 2027 assembly elections will not be decided only by the appointment of the state president. The real test will be how quickly Aradhana Mishra can translate the leadership change into a grassroots organization. Now the biggest question before the party is whether the organization will be ready before the elections or the Congress will once again be forced to enter the field with a weak structure.
