New Delhi, 22 July. In the national capital Delhi, political turmoil is continuously increasing with the support of opposition parties including Congress to the ongoing movement under the banner of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). In this sequence, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to close 16 metro stations of the metropolis till further orders due to security reasons.
DMRC gave this information by issuing a service update. According to DMRC, due to security reasons, passenger movement at these stations will be completely closed. However, interchange facilities will continue at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat metro stations.

Interchange facility will continue
DMRC has clarified that interchange facility will be available for passengers at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations. Apart from this, passengers have been advised to check the latest metro information before leaving for the journey and use alternative routes.
Security increased due to CJP’s demonstration
According to the information received, in view of the demonstration by CJP in Delhi, security arrangements have been tightened in New Delhi and VVIP areas. At present, DMRC has not told when the closed stations will be reopened. This arrangement will remain in force until further orders.
