Tezzbuzz Desk – BJP National President Nitin Nabin has given a message to the party leaders to avoid accepting expensive gifts. He said that if a worker or supporter insists on giving an expensive gift, it should be politely returned. These also include gifts like gold or silver crowns.
Nitin Nabin said this in a meeting with the general secretaries of the party. In the meeting he said that the expectations of the general public are different from those active in public life. In such a situation, leaders should set an example to the society and party workers through their conduct.
Expensive gifts send the wrong message
The message given to the party leaders is based on maintaining transparency and dignity in public life. According to the party, the personal behavior of leaders also affects the image of the organization.
In fact, leaders and workers seeking tickets in election states often give expensive gifts during meetings with senior leaders and party in-charges. The tradition of giving gold and silver crowns or other expensive gifts is also seen in party programs. Nitin Nabin has advised not to accept such gifts.
Preparation for elections in many states
In the coming time, elections are to be held in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, Manipur, Gujarat and Karnataka. In such a situation, BJP's emphasis is on activities at the organizational level.
Nitin Nabin also recently went on a two-day tour of West Bengal. There he held organizational review meetings with party officials, MPs, MLAs, district leaders and officials related to IT and social media.
In Nabin's meetings in West Bengal, strengthening of the organization, coordination among party officials and review of grassroots level activities were discussed.
