The dream of settling in Ayodhya-Kashi and Mathura will come true! Yogi government’s big plan for religious cities
Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is preparing to give a new direction to the development of religious cities. In view of the increasing population, tourism and investment possibilities in major pilgrimage sites like Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura, the government is working on a special urban development plan. The objective of this initiative is not only to promote religious tourism but also to develop these cities as well-planned cities equipped with modern facilities.
Residential facilities will increase in religious cities
In the last few years, the number of devotees and investors in Ayodhya, Varanasi and Mathura has increased rapidly. After the construction of Ram temple, Kashi Vishwanath Dham project and development works of Braj region, the number of people wishing to settle in these cities has also increased. Keeping this in mind, the government is laying emphasis on new townships and modern housing schemes.
The government believes that by providing better housing, roads, water supply and transport facilities in cities with religious importance, they can be made attractive for permanent residence.
Development will happen on Ayodhya model
The major changes that have taken place in Ayodhya during the last few years have attracted the attention of the country and the world. Along with Ram Temple, roads, railways, airports and tourism facilities have expanded rapidly. Now the government is moving towards implementing this model in other religious cities also.
The government aims to develop these cities as global level spiritual centers by striking a balance between religious faith and modern urban facilities.
Special focus on Mathura-Braj region
Yogi government has also prepared a comprehensive development plan for Braj region. Infrastructure is being developed on a large scale connecting Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Barsana and Gokul. Under this, emphasis is being laid on strengthening the road network, circumambulation routes, tourism facilities and modern transport system.
It is being told that a target has been set to develop Braj region as a world class religious and cultural center on the lines of Ayodhya.
Why is the desire to settle in these cities increasing?
Apart from religious importance, employment, tourism and business possibilities are continuously increasing in these cities. After Ram temple in Ayodhya, investment in hotel, real estate and service sector has increased. Religious tourism and cultural activities in Kashi have given a new impetus to the economy, while the Mathura-Vrindavan region is also rapidly emerging as a center of development.
What is the long term thinking of the government?
Yogi government’s strategy is not limited to beautification of religious places only. The state government is working towards developing new townships and establishing religious towns as modern urban centers in the coming years. This will not only boost tourism but will also increase employment opportunities and better standard of living for the local people.
