Police arrested the accused, search for others continues
Baliya. In Bharatpura village of Sukhpura police station area of Ballia district, a drunken husband who was quarreling with his wife was beaten up by his neighbors due to which he died. According to the police, neighbors who came to intervene in a dispute between husband and wife on Sunday night, beat Surendra Rajbhar (45) with sticks. Seriously injured Surendra died on the way to Varanasi.
Police station in-charge Ratnesh Dubey told that Surendra Rajbhar often used to come home drunk and used to abuse his wife Sushila. There was a dispute between the two even on Sunday night. Hearing the noise, some youth from the neighborhood reached the spot and tried to pacify both of them. Meanwhile, the altercation escalated and the youth beat Surendra with sticks.
He told that the injured Surendra was first taken to the district hospital. When his condition became critical, the doctors referred him to Varanasi, but he died on the way. Police have sent the body for post-mortem.
According to the police station in-charge, on the complaint of the father-in-law of the deceased, a case has been registered against four people under the Indian Judicial Code for culpable homicide. One accused has been arrested. The search for others is ongoing.
