Chennai. In the final of Duleep Trophy, East Zone has made a big score in the first innings against South Zone. In response to East Zone's 708 runs, at the end of the third day's play on Tuesday, South Zone scored 242 runs losing 6 wickets. The team is currently 466 runs behind East Zone. The fourth day of the match will start at 9:30 am on Wednesday.

The start of South Zone's innings was not good. Ricky Bhui returned to the pavilion early after scoring just one run. After this Narayan Jagadeesan and Devdutt Padikkal tried to handle the innings. There was a partnership of 60 runs between the two, but Jagadishan was out on 32 runs.
Padikkal then added 56 runs with Sheikh Rashid. Rashid was out after scoring 27 runs and after some time Padikkal's innings of 62 runs also ended.
Tilak Verma took over the innings
Captain Tilak Verma took charge amid continuous fall of wickets. He added 45 runs for the fifth wicket with Ravichandran Smaran. Smaran was out after scoring 23 runs.

After this, Tilak prevented the team from getting into further trouble by making a partnership of 66 runs with Shreyas Gopal. Till the end of the day's play, Tilak Verma remained at the crease after scoring 56 runs, while Chama Milind was supporting him on 2 runs.
For East Zone, Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar have taken two wickets each. Shikhar Mohan got a success.
Ishaan accepted Vaibhav's advice and took the review.
An interesting moment was also seen during the South Zone innings on the third day. A catch appeal was made against Ricky Bhui on the ball of Mukesh Kumar. The ball took the edge of the bat and reached the gloves of wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan.
Ishaan was confused about taking the review. Meanwhile, East Zone vice-captain Vaibhav Suryavanshi signaled him to take a review. The captain agreed to his request and after investigation by the third umpire, Bhui was declared out.

East Zone scored 708 runs in the first innings
Earlier, East Zone scored a huge 708 runs in their first innings. Captain Ishan Kishan played the biggest innings and scored 270 runs. He hit 30 fours and 7 sixes in his innings of 334 balls.
Kumar Kushagra scored 101 runs, while Shikhar Mohan contributed 85 runs and Abhimanyu Easwaran contributed 72 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi also scored fast and added 44 runs in just 37 balls.
Tripurana Vijay was the most successful among the South Zone bowlers and took four wickets. Chama Milind and Shreyas Gopal got two wickets each, while Sheikh Rashid got one success. Mohammad Siraj could not take any wicket in the first innings.
Now the course of the match will largely depend on the next innings of South Zone. East Zone currently has a lead of 466 runs and South Zone has the challenge of reducing this gap first.
