First a false rape case was filed against a 56 year old man, then he asked for Rs 5 lakh, how a recording exposed the maid.

The matter was looking very serious after a 56 year old man was accused of rape in Dwarka, Delhi. The police started investigation as soon as they received the complaint, but the very next day there was a twist in the story which changed the direction of the entire case. The woman who made the accusation had demanded Rs 5 lakh from her son in exchange for withdrawing the complaint.

While the son recorded the conversation with the woman, in which she was heard allegedly talking about ending the matter by taking money, the CCTV footage, mobile records and this audio recording revealed such a truth in the investigation that the woman who complained of rape herself ended up behind the bars.

This is how the whole matter started

On June 30, at around 1:22 pm, a woman’s call came to the police control room (112). The woman told that she was sent to do household work in a flat in Dwarka through a mobile app. There the 56-year-old man allegedly raped her after the work was completed. The woman claimed that she somehow managed to escape from there and informed her seniors about the entire incident. On the advice of the company, he lodged a complaint with the police.

One phone call changed the whole matter

A new twist came during the investigation on July 1. Police came to know that the woman had contacted the accused person’s son and demanded Rs 5 lakh in return for withdrawing the complaint. She allegedly threatened that if the money was not given, she would ruin the family’s honor by taking the rape case forward. Later, a meeting between the two was fixed, where the woman reportedly agreed to take an initial amount of Rs 2 lakh. During this, the son of the accused recorded the entire conversation. He had already informed the police about this meeting.

Woman arrested

According to the police, CCTV footage, mobile records and recorded conversations did not match the woman’s allegations. After this the woman withdrew her complaint, but the police arrested her the same day. Rs 2 lakh were also recovered from him.

Now what next?

Based on the statement of the victim and the available evidence, the police have registered a case of extortion against the woman under section 308 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The police are now also investigating his old records to find out whether he had tried to extort money from people in the past by implicating them in false cases.
