E-rickshaw fare double in Delhi, now journey will cost Rs 20 not Rs 10, it is sure to be loose in pocket

E-Rickshaw Fares Rise In Delhi: With the beginning of May, many changes have been seen in the country, in which the prices of LPG and fuel are seen increasing from May 1, while traveling by e-rickshaw is also becoming expensive in the capital Delhi. If we look at the biggest change, the minimum fare has been increased by almost 100%. In which till now the journey used to start at Rs 10, now the same fare has been increased to Rs 20.

Who took this big decision?

The decision to increase the fare for traveling by e-rickshaw has been taken after the meeting of the Electric Vehicle Federation, in which e-rickshaw drivers, dealers and manufacturers were involved.

Federation Chairman Anuj Sharma said, ‘There has been no change in e-rickshaw fares since 2014, while auto and taxi fares have increased several times.’ Concluding his point, he said that in view of rising inflation and wages, it was necessary to take this step.

Mixed reaction from passengers

Ever since it came to light that e-rickshaw fares have been increased, the reactions of common people are coming in different ways.

  • Some people are justifying it
  • At the same time, many people say that it is not right to double the fare completely.
  • Some passengers were even seen leaving on foot after hearing the higher fare.

Direct impact on people’s pockets

In such a situation, this change is a big shock for those who travel by e-rickshaw daily. Because its direct impact is going to be visible on their pockets. In which these changes will be seen:

  • There will be a direct increase in daily expenses, which may spoil the monthly budget.
  • On the other hand, drivers say that this increase is their compulsion, because both expenses and maintenance have increased.

How many e-rickshaws are running in Delhi?

Delhi is a working state in which people come only with the intention of working, hence according to the information received, there are more than 2 lakh registered and about 1.5 lakh unregistered e-rickshaws running in the capital. In such a situation, the increase in fare on this big network is going to affect the pockets of millions of people.

The government also made big changes

The government had also made changes in recent times in which e-rickshaw operators met Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh and presented their problems. After this, the government took a big step and changed the old rule. In which it was told that now companies and firms will not be able to register e-rickshaws on a large scale.

Small drivers will get benefit

The purpose of this big decision of the government was to provide security to small and individual drivers and increase their benefits. This will reduce the hold of big corporates and common people will get new employment opportunities. Also, individual e-rickshaw registration will be restarted after May 15. Which will become a new source of employment for the people.

Relief or new trouble?

At the same time, this question definitely comes in the mind whether this is a relief or a problem for the people. While the increase in e-rickshaw fare will provide some relief to the drivers, for the general public, especially the middle class, it can prove to be another expense-increasing decision. Due to which, in the coming time, it can also be seen that people are traveling on foot instead of taking vehicles.
