Content creator. It has gradually become a career option in the last few years. Starting from YouTube, Facebook and various social media, many earn from various types of content. But this time the rule that YouTube is bringing will not be easy to earn from this medium. Watch hours doubled for new creators. Even, views of YouTube shorts have increased.
So far the target of 4000 hours had to be met in a year or 365 days. In the new rules, it has been increased to 8000 hours! However, this new rule is not coming into force immediately. This rule is going to be implemented from February 2027. However, this monetization policy will not apply to creators who are currently in the Creator Partner Program.
But along with this, another new rule is being introduced, which is applicable to all content creators, old and new. That is in the case of reels. The target of 10 million i.e. one crore in 90 days has been increased to 20 million i.e. two crores. Channels that fall below this limit will remain in the partner program and can continue to earn from long-form videos. However, their income from YouTube shorts will resume only when they meet the 1 crore views again.
The YouTube Partner Program guidelines were last changed by YouTube in 2018. Nothing has changed in the intervening years. Finally, about a decade later, they changed the rules again. However, YouTube said creators can expect more revenue as a result of this change. Because when a user subscribes to the 'premium' service, the average income of the partners (partners) is higher compared to viewing ads.
