ISL 2026-27: East Bengal FC started the ISL 2026-27 season with a strong win. Red-yellow picked up full three points after defeating Churchill Brothers 4-0 in Goa on Sunday. Dani Ramirez and Edmond Lalrindika scored one each. Converted footballer Bipin Singh Thaunaojam scored two goals. This big win will undoubtedly boost the confidence of Antonio Habas’ team ahead of the next match.
Ramirez’s goal from a free-kick
At the beginning of the match, Dani Ramirez put East Bengal ahead with a left foot shot from a free-kick. Edmond extended the lead late in the first half from David Lalrinsanga’s hammer pass. Churchill Brothers played a bit better in ball possession and passing but could not capitalize on the opportunities. On the other hand, taking advantage of the opponent’s mistakes and scoring one goal after another, Red-Yellow kept the control of the match in their own hands.
Big win by Bipin’s double goal
Late in the second half, Habas got the benefit by bringing on Bipin Singh. Bipin scored the third goal with a left foot shot from Ake Arno Loba’s pass. He then scored his second goal from PV Vishnu’s cross to make it 4-0 for East Bengal. The Churchill Brothers’ defense virtually collapsed in the end. The effective role of the substitute footballers was one of the biggest aspects of East Bengal’s victory.

Now the next challenge in front of East Bengal is Inter Kashi. The two teams will face each other in the ISL match on Friday, October 23. The match is an away match against Inter Kashi and starts at 5 PM as scheduled. However, the exact venue of the match is not yet confirmed.
Consecutive away matches, then back to Kolkata
After the match against Inter Kashi, East Bengal will have to play an away match. The red and yellow will play against Chennaiyin FC on November 7 and Bengaluru FC on November 17. They will then play their first home match against Sporting Club Delhi at the Yuva Bharati Sports Complex on November 20. So Habas’ team aims to build on the confidence of the big win against Churchill Brothers and maintain consistency in the next matches.
