Ujjain Viral Video: A video related to Chakratirtha crematorium of Ujjain is being claimed to be going viral rapidly on social media. It is being told that the video has been shared from the Instagram account of Kali alias Nand Giri, associated with Kinnar Akhara. In the video, Kali is allegedly seen performing tantric rituals with a sword in her hand. He is then shown going near a burning pyre, taking out human remains with a sword and claiming to eat it. After the video surfaced, there is anger among the people and demand for action is being raised.
Sant Samaj expressed objection
There is resentment among the saint community and common people over the video claiming such activity near the burning pyre and eating human remains. It is being said that it is against the decorum and religious traditions of the society. Action is also being demanded from the administration in the matter.
Mahamandaleshwar said – Aghor Sadhana has its own dignity
Mahamandaleshwar Shaileshanand Giri objected to such activities being made public. He said that Aghor Sadhana has its own set limits and it is not appropriate to display Tantric rituals in public. According to him, exposing such activities for personal fame or publicity sends a wrong message to the society.
Questions raised on making Tantrik Sadhana public
Shaileshanand Giri said that in the traditions of Agama-Nigam Tantra and Advaita Vedanta, it has been said that the distinction between sacred and impure should be abolished. Under this tradition, the paths of Aghor and Aughad Sadhana have been determined. However, he clarified that Aghori Sadhaks have their own limits and it is important to keep such practices confidential. He says that these should not be displayed in public.
Example of old controversy of Discovery Channel also given
Mahamandaleshwar also mentioned the cases related to Discovery Channel and other investigative channels a few years ago. He said that some scenes related to the Indian Vedic Tantra tradition were recorded, but they were blurred after objection from Hindu saints. According to him, such practices are extremely confidential and their public display is an insult to Indian Vedic and Hindu traditions.
Demand for action from administration
Shaileshanand Giri said that the government and administration should take such activities seriously. He said that in modern society it is necessary to control activities that spread fear, hatred and superstition. He demanded the administration to take appropriate action by taking cognizance of the viral video and the activities shown in it.
