A notification has been issued by the Directorate of Health Services, Chhattisgarh. It said that nodal officers should be appointed in the airport premises to ensure screening of passengers and necessary arrangements to prevent Ebola infection within the state. It has been said that it will be the responsibility of the nodal officer to coordinate the health screening system of the passengers arriving at the airport. Apart from this, suspected cases have to be identified and immediately informed to the concerned health department. At the same time, arrangements for isolation referral and emergency management will also have to be ensured.

What did the Union Health Minister say?
According to the information received, Union Health Minister JP Nadda also said that only one case of Ebola has been reported in India. He also said that all the arrangements have been strengthened as a precaution to avoid Ebola. Screening and surveillance has been increased at all airports, ports and border areas of the country. NCDC, ICMR and other agencies have been asked to be ready for tracking, testing and surveillance. An alert has also been issued by the World Health Organization.
