ED opposes Jacqueline Fernandes’ plea to become a government witness, important hearing to be held tomorrow in Patiala House Court
Jacqueline Fernandez: The legal proceedings related to actress Jacqueline Fernandez in a high-profile case going on in Delhi are constantly in the headlines. This matter is related to the investigation of the Enforcement Directorate, in which questions have been raised against him regarding financial transactions and role in a big case. Now a new twist came in this whole case when Jacqueline Fernandes filed an application in the court and asked for permission to become a government witness. She said that she wants to cooperate in the investigation and help in bringing out the truth.
But the Enforcement Directorate has strongly opposed this application in the court. While filing its reply in Delhi’s Patiala House Court, ED clearly said that at present there is no basis in this case on which he should be made a government witness. The agency says that his behavior and conduct during the investigation has been under question, hence his application cannot be accepted at this stage.
The application should be carefully considered
ED also said in its reply that it has many such evidences related to this case, which are very important to take the investigation forward. The agency believes that this matter is not limited to mere statement or cooperation, but there are many financial and legal aspects involved, which are being investigated in depth. For this reason, the ED requested the court to carefully consider this application and not accept it immediately.
