Sealed in the state level committee meeting
On Monday, Chief Secretary S.P. This decision was taken in the meeting of the State Level Approval and Monitoring Committee held under the chairmanship of Goyal. In the meeting, the DPR of these houses was approved under the beneficiary based individual housing construction (BLC) component of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0. The government says that the objective of the scheme is to provide safe and permanent housing to the poor and low income group people.
Till now 3.68 lakh houses have been approved
After the new approval, the total number of houses sanctioned under PM Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 will increase to 3,68,138. There will be special focus on quality
This time the government has not only emphasized on increasing the number of houses but also on ensuring their quality. Under the new system, the second installment will be released only after checking the quality of the houses. For this, technical teams have been formed in the districts, which will inspect the construction work. If needed, help from government technical institutions and expert agencies will also be taken.
Construction work will be completed on time
In the meeting, officials were instructed to complete the affordable housing projects within the stipulated time. The government wants the beneficiaries to get their houses as soon as possible. Along with this, a system of third party monitoring is also being implemented to maintain transparency and quality in the construction work.
