Saran Range DIG reaches Ekma in girl student gangrape case

Ekma (Saran). Seeing the seriousness of the case of gang rape of a minor girl student of Daudpur police station area in Ekma police station area, Saran Range DIG Nilesh Kumar reached Ekma police station on Monday evening and reviewed the progress of the case. After this the incident site was inspected. After this the DIG took detailed information from the police officers and gave necessary directions.
One accused arrested, search for two others continues
Talking to journalists, DIG Nilesh Kumar said that so far one accused has been arrested in the case, while continuous raids are being conducted to arrest two other accused. He said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under the leadership of Sadar-2, Ekma SDPO to crack the case. Medical examination of the victim has been done and the investigation of the case is progressing rapidly. He assured that the entire matter will be resolved soon.
It is noteworthy that after the case of gang rape of a minor student came to light in Ekma police station area on Sunday, the police took immediate action and registered an FIR under relevant sections of POCSO Act and BNS. Senior Superintendent of Police Vineet Kumar had inspected the incident site on Sunday night itself and considering the sensitivity of the matter, SIT was formed. On Monday morning the FSL team reached the spot and collected scientific evidence. Along with conducting medical examination of the victim, the police has also started the process of recording her statement in the court.
Police say that legal and fair action is being taken in the case. A thorough investigation of the entire case is going on while maintaining the confidentiality of the victim’s identity.
