BJP State Incharge : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is once again in the election mood. After forming a new national organizational team, the party also announced new in-charges for three states on Tuesday. Vinod Tawde has been appointed as the in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, while Satish Punia has been appointed as the in-charge of Punjab. Tarun Chugh has been appointed as the in-charge of Gujarat.
Vinod Tawde was appointed as the in-charge of Uttar Pradesh
Vinod Tawde, who has a strong hold in the party organization, will be appointed as the in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. This obligation comes even before the assembly elections are due to be held in the state in a few months. Tawde is currently a Rajya Sabha MP and the party’s national general secretary. Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel has been appointed as co-in-charge.
Rajya Sabha MP and National General Secretary Dr. Satish Punia has been appointed as the in-charge of Punjab. The state is also important for the BJP, as assembly elections will be held there along with Uttar Pradesh. Tarun Chugh has been appointed as the in-charge of Gujarat. Chugh, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP and national office bearer, is due to go to polls later next year after Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
Formation of a new national team before the announcement of a new in-charge
Before announcing the new in-charges for the three states, BJP president Nitin Navin on Monday formed his new national team. The new team saw extensive changes including the inclusion of many new faces. Former Union Minister Smriti Irani was appointed as General Secretary, and former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) official Ram Madhav was appointed as Vice President.
In its new national team, the party has named 13 leaders, including former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, as its new vice president. Of the 65 office-bearers assigned to the party, 51 are new. Of these, six are below 40 years of age, 15 are between 40 to 49 years of age and 21 are between 50 to 59 years of age.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal appointed as National Treasurer
According to the party, the office-bearers also include 12 women and six leaders from minority communities. The party asserted that the reshuffle is in view of the BJP’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections and the next general elections by 2029.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed as the National Treasurer. Goyal is the only Union minister included in the party’s new team. The BJP has retained BL Santosh as National General Secretary (Organization), an important post in the party. The party has als
