Samajwadi Party's National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav met Samajwadi Party's state headquarters on Monday by farmers of Western Uttar Pradesh and Chaudharys of various Khaps. During this, farmers discussed the problems related to agriculture and farming families and shared their views regarding the upcoming assembly elections. Samajwadi Party's national secretary and former cabinet minister Rajendra Chaudhary and state president Shyam Lal Pal were also present in the meeting.
While communicating with the farmers, Akhilesh Yadav said that Samajwadi Party is the farmers' own party. He said that the assembly elections of 2027 will be very important for the farmers and this election is related to the future of the farmers. He alleged that the BJP government has cheated the farmers in the last ten years and the farmers are continuously struggling with various problems.
Government targeted over availability of fertilizers and seeds
The SP President said that during the tenure of the BJP government, fertilizers and seeds were not available to the farmers on time. When a farmer needs fertilizer, the problem of shortage of fertilizer comes to the fore. He alleged that commissioneering and profiteering have increased during the tenure of the government. Farmers have to worry about fertilizers and if they protest, strict action is taken against them.
He said that the condition of farmers has worsened under the BJP government and the influence of middlemen in the agricultural sector has increased. Farmers are not getting fair price for their crops. Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the basic character of BJP has been anti-farmer and it has always neglected the farmers.
Claim of sugarcane payment within 24 hours if government is formed
Akhilesh Yadav said that if Samajwadi Party government is formed in the year 2027, decisions will be taken on priority basis in the interest of farmers. He said that payment of sugarcane price to sugarcane farmers would be ensured within 24 hours. Along with providing adequate electricity to the farmers, proper arrangements for fertilizers, seeds, water and irrigation will be made.
He said that under the Samajwadi Party government, farmers will not have to wander for fertilizers. Effective steps will be taken to provide remunerative prices to farmers' crops. Along with this, he also talked about providing free treatment facilities to the farmers. Akhilesh Yadav said that farmers' share in the profits from ethanol production should also be ensured, so that families associated with the agricultural sector can get real benefits from it.
Promise to give priority to development of villages
The SP President said that if the Samajwadi Party government is formed, priority will be given to the development of villages. Along with strengthening the basic facilities in rural areas, policies will be made according to the needs of the farmers. He said that farmers are paramount for Samajwadi Party.
He said that during the previous governments of Samajwadi Party, many important decisions were taken in the interest of farmers, which farmers still remember. He claimed that his party will work in the same direction in future also to strengthen the farmers and rural economy.
Farmers expressed confidence in Akhilesh
During the meeting, farmers and Khap representatives said that they have faith in Akhilesh Yadav. He said that Akhilesh Yadav is familiar with the problems of farmers and farming families. Farmers said that during his tenure as Chief Minister, the agriculture budget was increased and various facilities were provided to the farmers.
Khap representatives and farmers said that there is a need to seriously raise issues related to agriculture sector, like fair price of crops, electricity, irrigation, fertilizers and economic condition of farmers. He said that the solution to the problems of farmers is possible not only through announcements, but through effective policies and their implementation on the ground.
Resolve to make united efforts in favor of SP in 2027
During the meeting, representatives of various Khaps and farmers resolved to make united efforts to give majority to Samajwadi Party in the 2027 assembly elections and make Akhilesh Yadav the Chief Minister. Farmers and Khap representatives said that farmers in western Uttar Pradesh will decide their role on important political issues.
On this occasion, Chaudhary Virendra Pradhan of Budhana, Muzaffarnagar presented a plow to Akhilesh Yadav. The farmers who arrived from Baghpat presented him hookah. The gift of plow and hookah was seen to be associated with the farming culture and rural traditions of western Uttar Pradesh.

Among those who met Akhilesh Yadav were Siwal Khas, SP leader Gaurav Chaudhary of Meerut, Chaudhary Subhash Khokar of Khokar Khap, Baghpat, Chaudhary Mohan Lal Mann of Maan Khap, Chhaprauli, Chaudhary Azad Malik of Malik Khap, Baghpat, Chaudhary Dharampal of Dangi Khap, Baraut, State General Secretary of Kisan Union Kapil Poonia, Meerut, Mahipal Singh Mann of Chaprauli, Anuj Poonia of Meerut, Pramod of Chhaprauli, Chaudhary Ramveer Pradhan, Pura Mahadev, Chaudhary Kallu Dealer, Pura Mahadev, Urmila Chaudhary, Meerut, Jaiveer Baliyan Pehelwan, Ravi Baliyan and Chaudhary Virendra Baliyan Pradhan and other farmers and Khap representatives were present.
In the meeting, indications were given to raise issues related to farmers prominently in the political discussion of the upcoming assembly elections. The SP leadership assured of making policies in the interest of farmers and giving priority to the development of rural areas.
