Electric SUV: JSW Motor India is preparing to strengthen its upcoming electric vehicle portfolio. The company is considering offering an all-wheel drive (AWD) system in one of its upcoming SUVs. According to reports, this model could be based on the Chery iCar V23 electric SUV, which is also known as the iCaur V23 in some markets.
While JSW Motors’ first model is expected to be based on the Chery Jetour T2 SUV, the company is also testing a second electric SUV. According to sources, the V23-based electric SUV for India could feature a dual-motor setup with an optional AWD system. The company could offer it to compete with models like the recently launched Tata Sierra EV.
The Chery iCar V23 sports a boxy design, offering
a distinctive and attractive SUV look. Its boxy profile gives it a rugged SUV look, reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender. Retro styling elements are also evident.
Its front end features a layered grille flanked by round headlamps, giving it a resemblance to the Toyota Land Cruiser 40 Series. The SUV’s front bumper features body-colored panels with black elements. Active air vents are also available at the bottom.
The rear design is straightforward and boxy, with offset number plate placement and a tailgate-mounted storage box. The rear bumper is also designed in a rugged SUV style.
Minimalistic Interior and Advanced Features
The iCar V23’s cabin boasts a simple yet premium design. It features a large 15.4-inch central touchscreen that controls various functions. Additionally, several physical dials and switches are located on the center console.

Powerful Electric Powertrain:
The Chery iCar V23 is offered with an AWD option in global markets. The top variant features a dual electric motor setup with an 81.75 kWh battery pack.
This setup produces around 208 bhp and 292 Nm of torque. Details about the battery pack and specifications of this electric SUV will be revealed at launch.
This new electric SUV from JSW Motors can be introduced in the Indian market keeping in mind the premium EV segment, where it will compete with new electric models like Tata Sierra EV.
