ENG vs IND: Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a unique record despite flopping on debut, even legends like Rohit-Kohli were left behind.
New Delhi: In the second T20 match against England, young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi finally got a chance to debut for Team India. Vice-captain Tilak Verma handed him the debut cap. Although he could not play a big innings in his first innings and was out after scoring 14 runs, during this time he made a record which is not even in the names of many great players of Indian cricket.
Made a special identity with two sixes
Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit two brilliant sixes in his innings of 14 runs. He hit the first six on the ball of England’s fastest bowler Joffra Archer, while the second six was on the slower ball of Josh Tong.
No second thoughts. Just clean striking. 🚀
Another confident maximum from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on debut.

With these two sixes, he became the sixth Indian batsman to hit more than one six in his T20 International debut match. This achievement is also considered special because the names of very few Indian players are included in this list.
Vaibhav joined the list of these players
The names of Ashish Nehra, Murali Vijay, Rahul Dravid, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Verma and now Vaibhav Suryavanshi have been included among the Indian players who have hit more than one six in the T20 International debut match.
Rahul Dravid’s presence in this list is considered to be the most shocking. In his only T20 International match, he scored 31 runs and hit three sixes. Ishan Kishan had hit four sixes in his debut match and Tilak Verma had hit three sixes in his first T20 innings.
Even Rohit-Virat could not do this feat
The most interesting thing about this special record is that the Indian team’s legendary batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could not hit more than one six in their T20 debut match. Former number-1 T20 batsman Abhishek Sharma has also not been able to make a place in this list. In such a situation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi created a distinct identity in his very first match.
India had to face defeat in the match
In the second T20 match played in Manchester, India batted first and scored 190 runs. In reply, England batted brilliantly and achieved the target in the 19th over.
The hero of England’s victory was Jacob Bethall, who played a brilliant inning of 76 unbeaten runs and was adjudged player of the match. Although Team India lost, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s debut and his special record became a topic of discussion among cricket fans.
