England Cricket Board announced central contract, this bowler got 2 years jackpot contract without making debut

England Cricket Team: The England Cricket Board has announced the central contract on 12 October. A total of 39 players have been included in this new list released by the ECB, in which 30 players have been given main central contracts and 9 players have been given development contracts. This time, keeping in mind the future big events (like Ashes and World Cup), only 11 main players have been kept on elite contracts for 2 years. At the same time, veteran all-rounder Ben Stokes and fast bowler Mark Wood have been kept out of this list due to retirement.

Only 11 players got 2 year contract

The England Cricket Board has expressed the greatest confidence in Test captain Joe Root and the new limited overs (T20 and ODI) captain Harry Brook. Along with these two giants, a total of 11 players have got a big contract of 2 years till 30 September 2028. This special list also includes the names of match-winning players like paceman Joffra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Sam Curran, Will Jacques and Josh Tong, who are returning after injury.

The biggest surprise of this list was fast bowler Henry Crocombe. He has not played a single international match for England yet, yet the board immediately handed him a 2-year jackpot contract. This is a unique and surprising decision in the history of English cricket. Apart from Henry, two more young players of the team Jordan Cox and Jacob Bethel have also got a place in this special list.

19 players got 1 year contract

ECB has given place to a total of 19 players in the list of 1 year contract. The most surprising thing in this is that even after being out of the playing eleven of the Test team, vice-captain Ollie Pope and spinner Shoaib Bashir managed to save their contracts. Apart from these, star captain Jos Buttler, wicketkeeper Jamie Smith, explosive opener Ben Duckett, Phil Salt, young spinner Rehan Ahmed and experienced Adil Rashid have also been included in this 1-year list. At the same time, fast bowler Ollie Robinson has made a great comeback in the central contract.

These 4 big names were cut off

• Ben Stokes: Out due to retirement from international cricket.
• Mark Wood: Out due to retirement from international cricket.
• Sack Crawley: Contract not renewed due to poor form and being out of the team.
• Luke Wood: Dropped from the list on performance grounds.

Young players got development contracts

To prepare future stars, the board has given development contracts to 9 young players. The biggest and most talked about name in this list is that of 18 year old young wicketkeeper-batsman Thomas Ryu. He is the youngest player in this entire list, who captained the England team in the final of the Under-19 World Cup this year. Apart from them, talented youngsters like leg-spinner Mason Crane, Josh Hull, James Coles and Ben McKinsey, who are returning after a long time, have also been included in this group, so that they can be prepared for international cricket.
