EPFO 3.0 Update: Will have to wait a little longer for PF claim through UPI, facility postponed due to technical problems of the new portal
Business Desk – EPFO 3.0 Update: An important update has come out for crores of members of the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). If you are waiting to get PF claim money directly into your bank account through UPI, then you will have to wait for some more time.
EPFO has currently postponed the launch of this facility. The biggest reason for this is the technical problems encountered in the recently launched new EPFO portal. The organization says that first the portal will be made completely stable and smooth, only then new digital services will be started.

Why was there a delay in providing PF claim facility through UPI?
EPFO had recently launched its new digital platform, but after this a large number of users complained of technical problems. Many members are having trouble logging into the portal, the website is running much slower than before. Data of many old PF accounts is also not visible correctly.
Apart from this, there have also been complaints of taking more time than usual in settlement of PF claims. In view of these problems, EPFO has decided to first completely repair the system, so that the members do not have to face any kind of problem after the launch of the new facility.
Now when will the facility of PF withdrawal from UPI start?
According to the information, EPFO is now preparing to launch UPI based PF claim facility in August. Earlier it was planned to be launched by the end of financial year 2025-26, but it was delayed due to technical reasons. The organization says that this feature will be implemented only after the new system is completely stable.
It is expected that most of the technical problems of the portal will be resolved by the first week of August. After this UPI based claim facility can be started.
What problems faced the new portal?
Data of many old PF accounts is not visible.
Having trouble logging into the portal.
The website is running much slower than before.
PF claim processing is taking longer than usual.
EPFO is continuously working to remove all these technical flaws.
New facility will be available under EPFO 3.0
UPI based PF claim system is part of EPFO 3.0 project. Its aim is to make the PF claim process faster, easier and completely digital than before. Under this project, Advanced Computing Development Center (C-DAC) is preparing the technical platform. Necessary technical integration is being done in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) and National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
EPFO is continuously increasing digital facilities
In the last few months, EPFO has made many major changes for the convenience of its members. These include expanding the scope of auto-claim settlement, simplifying PF withdrawal rules and launching a new member portal. Payment of PF claims through UPI is also being considered as the next step in this digital transformation.
Once this facility is launched, members will be able to get PF claim money directly into their bank accounts faster than before. However, at present the entire focus of EPFO is on removing the technical problems of the new portal, so that the new service can be started without any hindrance.
