Europe in the grip of extreme heat, condition is worst in France, government took this step

New Delhi. There is scorching heat in Europe. The situation became so bad in France that the government banned drinking alcohol for a day. A heat alert has also been issued in Germany and in Spain even the places made for football fans had to be closed.

It is extremely hot these days in large parts of Europe. The temperature is moving towards record temperature levels. The impact of this heat is so much that many countries have had to take different measures.

The biggest impact has been seen in France. Red heatwave alert was about to be issued in 35 out of 96 areas of France. In these areas from the southwest to Paris and Burgundy, the temperature was expected to reach 39 to 40 degrees Celsius. At some places the temperature could even reach 41 degrees.

  • In view of this heat, French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu called an emergency meeting. After this meeting he took a big decision. He banned drinking alcohol at the Fete de la Musica festival and other public events on Sunday. This ban was imposed in the same 35 areas where red alert was issued. However, the administration in Paris ordered to keep parks open 24 hours so that people could escape the heat.

The situation was no different in Germany also. Heat alert was issued in most areas here. The temperature was expected to reach around 38 degrees Celsius. Germany’s meteorological department warned that heat and moisture combined could bring strong storms. Even in Italy, the heat made life difficult for people. The temperature here was expected to reach 36 to 37 degrees Celsius.

This heat affected both everyday life and tourism here. People were standing in queues in the hot sun outside the Colosseum in Rome. Traveling had become a kind of test of endurance. Some people went to cool places under the temple of Claudius to escape the heat.
