For this process, Meta says that this new AI system will help in identifying children under 13 years of age regardless of whether they have entered the wrong date of birth while creating the account or not.

Will check not only date of birth but also photos and posts

Meta’s new AI will not rely only on the age written in the profile. This system is going to analyze even the posts, captions, bio and comments of the users. If Meta AI finds any indication of school class, birthday or age in a post, the account will be brought under investigation. Apart from this, AI is also going to try to estimate the age on the basis of common visual cues seen in photos and videos. But in this process the company has clearly said that this Facial Recognition technology is not being used. According to Meta, AI does not identify a person but only tries to estimate the age.

If there is any doubt, the account can be closed immediately

Due to the change in AI system, if any account is suspected to be that of a child under 13 years of age, then it can be closed immediately. After this the user will have to prove his real age by providing documents like government identity card. Only after which he will be able to use the account again. In any case, if the age cannot be proved then the account will be deleted forever. At the same time, the accounts of users aged 13 to 17 years who have shown themselves as adults will also be automatically changed to Teen Account mode.

What will be different in Teen Account?

Talking about Teen Account mode, many strict security related features will be activated in it. Under this, messages from unknown people will be limited, harmful comments will be hidden and less sensitive content will be shown. According to the Meta in Teen Account, users under the age of 16 cannot change these settings without parental permission.
