The government will build permanent houses for the families living in slums in Haiderpur area of Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency of Delhi. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made this announcement while inaugurating a free mega health check-up camp at the Ayurvedic Hospital in Haiderpur under the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' on Thursday. The Chief Minister said that the government is working to provide better and safe housing to the families living in slums. Steps will be taken towards constructing permanent houses for the eligible families living in Haiderpur. This announcement has raised hopes of families living in slums for a long time getting permanent housing.
Free testing of people in health camp
Free health services were provided to the local people in the mega health check-up camp organized under 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'. In the camp, along with health check-up of the people, they were also given necessary information regarding prevention of diseases and better health. The Chief Minister said that the government's focus is not limited to development work only, but providing basic facilities to poor and needy families is also a priority. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta gave information about the plan to build permanent houses for the families living in slums in Haiderpur. During the program he interacted with the slum dwellers and told that the housing construction work will be done in two phases.
Slums of AU and AO blocks in the first phase
The Chief Minister said that in the first phase, permanent houses will be built for the slum dwellers living in AU Block and AO Block of Haiderpur. For this, the process of tender for housing construction has started. Land is being marked around these two areas, after which construction work will start soon.
Slums in hospital area in second phase
He informed that in the second phase of the scheme, slums of Haiderpur Ayurvedic Hospital area will be included. For this, suitable land is being searched nearby. The Chief Minister said that the government is working towards providing better and safe housing to all eligible families.
'It is not the government's aim to remove anyone'
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta clarified that not a single slum in the area will be demolished in the name of development works. He said that the aim of the government is not to remove anyone, but to improve the lives of the people. For this, basic facilities are also being strengthened in slum areas. He said that facilities like new toilets, water ATM for clean water, Atal canteen, new sewer line, water pipeline and street lights are being provided in the area.

5 thousand yards of land for school up to 12th
The Chief Minister said that the need for a big school up to class 12 was being felt in Haiderpur area for a long time. For this, about 5,000 yards of land has been made available for the construction of the new school. With this, the children of the area are expected to get better educational facilities at the local level.
Tender issued for community building
He informed that a tender has also been issued for the construction of a new community building in the area. Apart from this, a new Chhath Ghat is being constructed on the banks of the canal, which will provide better facilities to the local people during Chhath Puja.
Ayushman Arogya Mandir opened, 'Nirog Dham' will be built
The Chief Minister said that a new Ayushman Arogya Mandir has been started in Haiderpur. There is a plan to develop 'Nirog Dham' in the area in the coming time. Here, efforts will be made to provide health facilities related to both Ayurvedic and Allopathic systems.
