But Ankita tells an all-India press, her experience is not like that. A situation also arose, he had to be alone among fifteen Taliban. But he did not face any kind of torture. Rather, the Taliban have made him tea!
Ankita has seen that if women are taken to a restaurant, men have to sit in a separate section covered with a curtain. Women are strictly prohibited from entering the male-only section. Women are not allowed to enter Afghanistan’s famous ‘Band-e-Amir’ after 8 am. When asked about this restriction on women’s entry, Ankita got a response that left her speechless. “Girls are not allowed to study after six o’clock, so do you think they (Taliban) have any problem with allowing women to enter Band-e-Amir?” According to Ankita, women are not even allowed to sit in the front seat of the car with men. Even a male driver is not allowed to sit inside the vehicle. Even if the car is empty, you have to sit in the back (trunk), even with the trunk open!

Ankita cannot forget the experience of talking with the Taliban in this country. “There were about 15 Taliban sitting under a tree. I was the only woman there! I asked for tea. The Taliban made me tea. We sat and discussed world politics, war and India, Pakistan and Afghanistan in a very open atmosphere. The whole thing was like a surreal experience!” However, Ankita says, “They didn’t do anything because I am a foreigner. Otherwise, they are extremely ruthless towards their own daughters.”
