Firing near England team’s base camp in America before FIFA World Cup, 9 people shot

New Delhi. Nine people were injured in a shooting near England’s FIFA World Cup 2026 base camp in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday, ahead of the FIFA World Cup in the US. According to reports, this incident happened just a few days before the start of the tournament in North America. In this Mahakumbh of 48 countries, 1,248 players will compete in a total of 104 matches in 16 cities of America, Canada and Mexico.

Police have confirmed that all nine victims’ injuries are not life-threatening and they will survive. Officials said that the investigation is ongoing, but at present no suspect has been detained. The incident took place about four miles from Swope Soccer Village, which has been designated as England’s official training base camp during the World Cup. The fortunate thing is that the England team has not reached Kansas City yet. The team is currently completing its preparations in Miami/Palm Beach, Florida and is scheduled to play a friendly against Costa Rica in Orlando on Wednesday.
