First standalone office building at world’s best airport to be completed in 2 years
The project will be built in two phases and will provide tenants on every floor with natural light and fresh air, airport operator Changi Airport Group said in a statement on Wednesday.
The development is intended to meet growing demand from airlines, airport partners, and businesses seeking office space near the airport. Building contractor Nakano Singapore has been awarded the construction contract.

With about 80,000 square meters of landside office space across the airport’s four terminals nearing full capacity, additional space is needed to support the hub’s expansion ahead of the opening of Terminal 5 in the mid-2030s, Changi Airport Group said. Landside refers to areas before immigration clearance that are generally accessible to the public.
Many aviation companies require offices at the airport to support day-to-day operations, while other partners benefit from being based there for convenience and operational efficiency.
Once completed, Terminal 5 will increase Changi Airport’s annual passenger capacity by more than 55%, from 90 million to 140 million.
The new development will provide about 9,600 square meters of office space across five floors and will be the airport’s first standalone office building, featuring a dedicated drop-off bay and lift lobby.
The first phase of construction, which covers the office building, is expected to be completed in the first half of 2028. Work on the coach station will follow in the second half of the year.
Construction will be carried out in two phases to minimize disruption to existing operations. The Urban Redevelopment Authority approved plans for the new office building near Terminal 3 in February.
Changi Airport Group vice president for rentable properties Steve Tay said the project will provide the airport’s partners with “a conducive and well-designed workspace environment.”
Changi Airport is consistently ranked among the world’s leading aviation hubs. It was named the World’s Best Airport in the 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards (its 14th overall title) and also won awards for the world’s best airport dining, immigration service, and best airport in Asia.
