5 accused including AAP leader and former minister Satyendra Jain in judicial custody, bail hearing on August 25

In the tender case related to Delhi Jal Board's sewage treatment plant, five accused, including former Delhi government minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendra Jain, have been sent to jail for 14 days in judicial custody by the Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday. The court also rejected Satyendar Jain's petition in which he had termed his arrest by the police as illegal. This case is related to corruption related to the STP project of Delhi Jal Board.

Meanwhile, accused Ankit Srivastava has been sent on remand for two days. The court will hear the bail plea of ​​the remaining four accused including Jain on August 25.

Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday sent five accused, including former Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain, to 14-day judicial custody in the corruption case and ordered them to appear in the court next time on September 3 at 11 am. The court has given this order on the request of Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) of Delhi.

Apart from former minister Satyendar Jain, those who will be sent to judicial custody are former Delhi Jal Board CEO and IAS officer Udit Prakash Rai, AN Enterprises proprietor Nagendra Yadav, Eurotech Environment Private Limited owner Raja Kumar Kurra and Srijanhar proprietor Pankaj Verma.

August 25 has been fixed for the hearing on the bail applications of the five accused including Satyendar Jain. At the same time, the bail plea of ​​IAS officer Udit Prakash Rai will be heard on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

According to ACB, FIR in this case was registered on 11 May 2024. In this case, along with sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, sections of IPC related to fraud, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy have been imposed. ACB alleges that by changing the technical terms and specifications of the tender, a particular technology provider, Eurotech Environment Private Limited, was benefited.
