NEW DELHI:
Five new sites from India have been added to the UNESCO Tentative List of World Heritage Sites.
Among the sites is the Udaigiri hill complex in Madhya Pradesh, which contains a rock-cut sacred ensemble dating mainly to the Gupta period between the late fourth and early fifth centuries.
The addition to the tentative list is an initial step before a site can be considered for nomination to UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
