New Delhi : The collapse of a five-storey building near Satya Niketan in south-west Delhi on Sunday caused panic. Many people are suspected to be buried under the debris after the accident. It has come to light that students were also involved in this. As soon as the information was received, fire department teams reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations.

The fire department had received information about the building collapse at around 1:30 pm. After this, fire brigade teams reached the spot and started the work of removing the debris and evacuating the people trapped inside. The area of ​​the accident is said to be around Motibagh area of ​​south-west Delhi.

The building was five storeyed, students feared trapped

According to the information received, the collapsed building was five storeyed. It is being told that students were staying in it as PG. Many students are feared buried under the debris after the building collapsed.

After the accident, relief and rescue work is going on continuously at the spot. The actual number of stranded people is not yet clear.

BJP MLA Anil Sharma told – some students are calling from inside

The statement of BJP MLA Anil Sharma regarding the incident has also come to light. Describing the accident as extremely tragic, he said that students lived in PG in this building and it is not yet clear how many students are trapped inside.

According to Anil Sharma, the number could be five, ten or even 20, but it is certain that some students are trapped inside the building. He informed that NDRF and MCD have already evacuated two students.

The MLA also said that some students were calling from inside. This indicates that many people may still be trapped under the debris. He said that the entire team has been sent to the spot by the Chief Minister and the main focus of the government is on getting the students out safely.

Eyewitness told- PG was named 'Hostel Days'

According to an eyewitness of the incident, the name of the collapsed building is said to be 'Hostel Days'. The eyewitness said that it was a PG exclusively for boys and was a five-storey building.

According to eyewitnesses, another building located right next to it also collapsed. The students who were inside their rooms at the time of the accident are feared to be buried under the debris.

He said that the exact number of stranded students would be known only after looking at the registration records.

Rescue operation started as soon as the building collapsed

According to eyewitnesses, within about 15-20 minutes of the building collapse, the fire brigade and rescue teams started taking people out. Rescue workers are trying to reach the people trapped under the debris.

Eyewitnesses also said that many students were seriously injured and rescue workers were facing great difficulties in pulling them out from the debris.

At present relief and rescue operations are going on. The final number of how many people are trapped under the debris and how many people have been injured in the accident will be clear only after the rescue operation is completed.
