Flipkart Delivery Agent Arrested After Woman Alleges He Forced Entry and Flashed Her in Bengaluru Home
A Flipkart delivery agent has been arrested in Bengaluru after a woman alleged that he forcibly entered her apartment and exposed himself inside her home.
The incident, which came to light through a social media post, prompted swift action by the Bengaluru Police, leading to the registration of a criminal case and the arrest of the accused.
Woman Alleges Delivery Agent Ignored Her Refusal
According to the complainant, the delivery agent arrived at her residence to deliver a package before requesting permission to use her washroom.
The woman said she repeatedly declined the request and suggested that he seek help from neighbouring residents. Despite her refusal, she alleged that the delivery agent removed his footwear and entered her apartment without permission.
She further claimed that after using the washroom, the man allegedly exposed himself, leaving her feeling shocked and unsafe in her own home.
In her social media post, the woman stressed that her repeated refusal should have been respected and that no one has the right to ignore personal boundaries or enter a home without consent.
Police Register Case, Arrest Accused
After noticing the woman’s post online, Bengaluru Police contacted her and sought details to verify the allegations.
Based on her formal complaint, police registered a case under Sections 75, 79 and 329(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The accused, identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat, was subsequently arrested. Police said further legal proceedings are underway.
Flipkart Terminates Delivery Partner
Following the arrest, Flipkart issued a statement expressing concern over the incident.
The company said it had immediately terminated the engagement of the delivery partner involved and was extending full support to the customer. It also confirmed that it is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation.
Flipkart stated that all delivery partners undergo background verification and mandatory training before onboarding. However, the company acknowledged that even a single incident of this nature is unacceptable and said it is reviewing its customer safety processes to strengthen existing safeguards.
Investigation Continues
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident while examining all available evidence. Authorities have not disclosed further details as the case remains under investigation.
