New Delhi: In Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, the students' agitation against alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations continues. Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) leader Devendra Nath Mahato, who is leading the movement, is currently admitted in Sadar Hospital. Now the protesting students have raised the demand of releasing him from the hospital and sending him back to the protest site.
Conversation held at press conference on Thursday
On Thursday, student leaders Ram Avtar Mahato and Mukesh Kumar held a press conference and claimed that Devendra Nath Mahato was being forcibly detained in the hospital. He said that the presence of their leader strengthens the movement and his stay in the hospital is increasing the resentment among the protesting students. Student leaders said that if Mahato has any health related problem then he should be shown the medical report.
Students' agitation continues for 19 days
Students in Jharkhand have been agitating for the last 19 days over alleged irregularities in conducting recruitment examinations. At the same time, Devendra Nath Mahato was on hunger strike for about 11 days. Meanwhile, his health had deteriorated after joining the march of the protesting students who were taken out to the Assembly. After this, on Monday he was admitted to Sadar Hospital in Ranchi for treatment.
Not only this, during treatment in the hospital, Mahato also wrote a letter to the Civil Surgeon of Ranchi on Wednesday night asking for permission to return to the protest site. He said that thousands of students are standing with him in this movement for their rights and future. In such a situation, he does not want to keep himself away from the movement.

Mahato said through a social media post that he has sent a letter to the Civil Surgeon seeking permission to return to the protest site at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium. He said in an emotional tone that his body is undergoing treatment on the hospital bed, but his soul is at the Satyagraha site, where students and youth are struggling for their future. Student leaders say that they are waiting for their leader to return to the protest site. At the same time, permission from the administration is now awaited regarding Mahato's return.
