Form did not come even in IPL, now Suryakumar Yadav will defeat Uganda

Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav has been struggling with poor form for quite some time. Surya proved to be a huge flop in the T20 World Cup this year. After this, his bat did not work even in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Surya’s captaincy of the Indian team is now under threat. Even though Team India has won the title under the leadership of Surya, the selectors believe that he is not getting a place in the team. Meanwhile, Surya has decided to play against Uganda.

 

Actually, Surya is going to play for ‘Triumph Knights Mumbai North East’ in T20 Mumbai League. This tournament is starting from 1st June. Before this, four different teams of T20 Mumbai League are going to face Uganda. Surya can take the field for Triumph Knights against Uganda in the match to be held on May 30. The Ugandan team is currently on a tour of Mumbai. Here he has to play 4-4 ODI and T20 matches.

There is every possibility of Surya playing: MCA

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) secretary Unmesh Khanwilkar told reporters on Tuesday (May 26) during the announcement of the signing of a five-year MoU with Cricket Uganda, ‘He (Surya) is part of the team. Therefore, there is every possibility of him playing.

 

Khanwilkar said, ‘He is the Indian captain and whenever he plays against any team, it boosts the morale of the team. It will also prove to be a great cricket experience.

The match between Triumph Knights and Uganda on May 30 is expected to be played at the MCA ground at Bandra Kurla Complex here. MCA President Ajinkya Naik said that International Cricket Council Chairman Jay Shah has also played an important role in making this agreement with Cricket Uganda possible.
