Former cricketer Amanpreet Singh Gill passes away; Farewell to the world at the age of 36, mourned by the cricketing world
New Delhi : Former Punjab cricketer Amanpreet Singh Gill passed away at the age of 36 in Chandigarh. His death is being mourned in the cricket world. He was a bowler. Gill shared the dressing room with many of India’s greatest cricketers and was known as a dedicated and humble player of Punjab cricket.
Gill played six first-class matches for Punjab during his career. He also played for Kings XI Punjab in the first season of the Indian Premier League. Even after retiring from the game, he remained associated with cricket and served as a member of the Punjab senior selection committee. Meanwhile, the Punjab Cricket Association issued an official statement condoling Gill’s death and remembering his long-term contribution to Punjab cricket. The Punjab Cricket Association said Gill served Punjab cricket and represented India Under-19, Punjab team and Kings XI Punjab.
The Cricket Association offered its condolences to his family and loved ones. He prayed for strength in this difficult time. According to reports, he will be cremated at the Manimajara Crematorium in Chandigarh.
