Former District Magistrate Divya Mittal, who reached Vindhyadham after years, said, “Mirzapur has made and carved me, I get equally emotional even today.”

Mirzapur. Former District Magistrate of Mirzapur and currently working as Special Secretary in the Revenue Department, reached Maa Vindhyavasini Dham on Thursday after many years. She looked emotional during the darshan and worship in her mother’s court. While entering the temple premises, he bowed to the first step by touching it with his right hand as per tradition and while reciting mantras and chanting, he reached the feet of the mother and worshiped her as per the rituals.
After the darshan, he reached the Pakka Ghat of Mother Ganga and remembered the Kalpavriksha he had planted and after taking a look at it, he bowed to Mother Ganga and remained meditating for some time. During this time, his memories of his tenure as District Magistrate also became fresh. He recalled the time when under his leadership, a grand celebration of Maa Ganga Mahotsav along with Vindhya Mahotsav was organized and Diwan Ghat was illuminated with fireworks and colorful lights.

Talking to journalists, Divya Mittal said, “I have got the opportunity to come here for the first time after leaving Mirzapur. Earlier too, I used to get emotional after coming here and I am feeling the same even today. It is a matter of great pleasure for me to have the privilege of having the darshan of Maa Vindhyavasini. The concept of Vindhya Corridor started in front of me. Today, I am very happy to see its grand appearance and further development.”

She told that her entire day would be spent in Mirzapur and she would leave from here the next day. Divya Mittal, currently working as Special Secretary in the Revenue Department, said that the construction of the proposed new Collectorate building in Mirzapur has been pending for a long time. She assured that she will make every possible effort to remove whatever obstacles there are in the project so that the construction of the new Collectorate building can be completed soon.

Responding to the affection of the people of Mirzapur, she said, “I am a fan of Mirzapur more than Mirzapur is my fan. Whatever I am today is because of Mirzapur. This district made me, carved me and gave me identity. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Mirzapur. Even while leaving from here, I had said that Mirzapur has filled my bag so much that I cannot count it in my entire life.”
Praying for the happiness and prosperity of the district and Vindhyachal from Mother Vindhyavasini, he said that the blessings of Mother always remain on the people of Mirzapur and all the devotees coming here and that everyone’s wishes are fulfilled.
It is noteworthy that at the time of Divya Mittal’s transfer from Mirzapur, her departure was historic. A large number of people bid him an emotional farewell and amid the shower of flowers, the entire district bid him farewell with tearful eyes. That scene of his popularity is still alive in the memories of the people of Mirzapur.
