news desk – Prime Video, India's largest streaming service for exclusive originals, today released the trailer of its highly anticipated Hindi original series 'The Revolutionaries'. This gave the audience the first glimpse of the world of this series full of thrill and excitement. Inspired by true events and set against the backdrop of India's freedom struggle, the historical drama is directed and produced as a series by renowned filmmaker Nikkhil Advani. It is produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the banner of Emmay Entertainment. This series is based on Sanjeev Sanyal's famous book 'Revolutionaries: The Other Story of How India Won Its Freedom'. The script of the series is written by Sanyukta Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhawana, Shobhit Narang and Rutvi Mehta. 'The Revolutionaries' has a fantastic team of actors. It stars Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada in lead roles, while Jason Shah, Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury will be seen in important roles.
The Revolutionaries will premiere on September 11 exclusively on Prime Video. The series will be available in India in Hindi and will also have dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali. Additionally, subtitles will be available in English and several other international languages. It can be seen in India as well as in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
The trailer introduces four revolutionaries—Ras Bihari Bose (Bhuvan Bam), Sachindra Nath Sanyal (Rohit Saraf), Pratibha Lahiri (Pratibha Ranta) and Bagha Jatin (Gurfateh Pirzada). All of them wage an armed rebellion against British rule, while the dreaded General Dyer (Jason Shah) follows them at every step. Gorgeous visuals and intense action sequences bring the period to life and show the scale of the rebellion taking shape against the might of an empire. At the heart of the series is a story of youth, friendship, conviction and sacrifice—four young Indians risk everything for a free country they may never see become independent.
Bhuvan Bam, playing the role of Rash Behari Bose, said, “What excited me most about The Revolutionaries was that it is not a traditional story of freedom fighters. It is the story of four young heroes who fight for their beliefs, while also going through mutual differences and blood relations like brotherhood. Rash Behari was an 'impostor' who was an expert in disguise and used to sneak into the British camps. There is very little historical documentation available about him, so Nikhil Sir's clear vision and conviction gave me the confidence to delve deeper into this mysterious character and I am grateful to Prime Video for giving them the opportunity to bring these untold stories to audiences across the world.”
Rohit Saraf, playing the role of Sachindra Nath Sanyal, said, “Playing the character of Sachindra Nath gave me the opportunity to step into a world that was completely new to me, both physically and emotionally. It is an honor for me to play the character of a real hero of India's freedom struggle, but what impressed me the most was his innocence and unwavering belief in his ideas. These qualities make him extremely relevant and relatable even in today's times. I went through rigorous training for this role, which allowed me to challenge myself beyond my limits. It has been a dream come true to work with Nikhil Advani and the entire team of The Revolutionaries. Pratibha Ranta, playing the role of Pratibha Lahiri, said, “Pratibha Lahiri is a young and progressive woman who is struggling to be heard in a society created by men. Her struggle feels equally relevant today. That's what attracted me to her character. Nikhil sir, the writers and I have together shaped this character and our aim from the beginning was to keep her natural and human rather than an extravagant heroine. Gurfateh Pirzada, playing the role of Bagha Jatin, said, “Being a part of The Revolutionaries gave me the opportunity to delve into a chapter of my history about which I knew very little.
