Kumar said, “Odisha, This gang involved in smuggling of ganja into Rajasthan via Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh was being monitored for a long time. On receiving the information, the suspects who came from Odisha were continuously chased. The accused first reached Jhansi by train and from there hired a pickup vehicle and left for Rajasthan.“
He said that the pickup vehicle was stopped near Mundiar Toll Plaza in Baran district and upon search, ganja was found hidden among the luggage. 50 The packets were recovered. Kumar said that during interrogation it came to light that the accused used to sell toys in Odisha and Chhattisgarh and during this time they were traveling from there around 2,000 Used to buy ganja at the rate of Rs 1 per kg and sell it at higher prices in Rajasthan.
He said that a case has been registered against the arrested accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and a search is on for other people involved in the gang.
