Competition to buy AC in France, stampede in the store! VIDEO of 41°C heat went viral

These days the whole of Europe is facing the scorching heat. The situation has become so bad that the mercury is continuously breaking records in many European countries. The most dangerous effect of this scorching heat is being seen in France. The continuously rising temperature has disrupted normal life. The situation is such that now it has become impossible for people to live in their homes without air conditioner (AC) or cooler. Meanwhile, a shocking video of an electronic store in France is spreading like wildfire on social media. Everyone is shocked to see this video that such a situation can happen even in European countries which are considered peaceful.

Video of ‘stampede’ went viral on social media

This video has been shared on the social media platform X handle. It has been told in the caption of the video that the heat in France is so severe that there is a huge shortage of ACs, coolers and other cooling devices in the shops there. Due to less stock, there is such a competition among people to buy these ACs that an atmosphere of chaos has been created in the shops.

What’s in the viral video?

It can be seen in the video that as soon as the big doors of the store open, the huge crowd of people waiting outside rushes inside like mad. Everyone wants to take possession of AC or cooler as soon as possible. Whoever gets his hands on whatever model or box, he picks it up and runs towards the billing counter. In this blind race, people are seen pushing each other and trying to get ahead, due to which a stampede-like situation is created inside the store for some time. This entire incident is being reported from Chambéry city of France. Local people say that they had never seen such a sight in France before in their life.

Temperature crosses 41 degrees, red alert in half of France

According to meteorological reports, at present the entire Europe including France is in the grip of a severe heat wave. In many cities the temperature has crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark. According to a BBC report, recently last Tuesday was recorded as the hottest day in the history of France, when the mercury reached 41 degrees Celsius in the capital Paris. Since houses in European countries are designed for winter and there is generally not much heat there, most of the houses did not already have ACs. But this time’s record-breaking heat has forced people to arrange cooling systems for their homes in whatever way they can.

On one side there is shortage, on the other side unique thinking of youth

Amidst this dire crisis, an interesting debate is also being seen in France. While on one hand elderly people and families are standing in queues to buy AC at any cost, the younger generation of France has a different thinking. Many youth of Paris say that they will tolerate this scorching heat, but will not install AC in their homes at the cost of harming the environment and the earth. The youth believe that the gases emitted from ACs further increase global warming, due to which this heat will become more deadly in future.

The biggest crisis since 1950

This form of heat is not new in Europe. Since 1950, extreme heat waves have been occurring intermittently in countries like Spain, Britain and France. But this time the crisis is bigger because due to excessive load the electricity grid has failed in many areas, due to which thousands of houses are without power. Without electricity and AC, people are forced to boil inside their homes.
