Summer rains become death in Europe! More than 1000 people died in France, records of decades broken
France Heatwave Latest News In Hindi: The whole of Europe is currently facing an unprecedented wave of extreme heat and heat wave. France’s public health agency released shocking figures on Sunday, saying that in the last one week there have been more than 1,000 deaths in the country due to heat. Experts have described this situation as a direct result of climate change and warned that Europe has now become the fastest warming continent in the world.
Horrible figure of deaths in France
The temperature in France last week broke all previous records. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday alone saw a huge jump in the number of deaths, according to the public health agency. On normal days, deaths in France average between 900 and 1,000 per day, but at the height of the summer the figure exceeded 1,400 per day.
The agency has confirmed that at least 1,000 additional deaths were recorded over the past three days. The report also said that 85 percent of those who died were 65 years of age or older.
The world’s fastest warming continent
World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has expressed deep concern over the situation. He said that Europe is warming at twice the rate of the global average. About 150 million people are currently living under extreme heat conditions, forcing schools to close and power grids to collapse. Tedros called heat a ‘silent killer’ And appealed to the European countries to immediately implement the action plan.
New heat records are being made
This wave of heat is now slowly moving towards Eastern Europe. A new temperature record was set in Germany for the third consecutive day, where the mercury reached 41.7 degrees Celsius in Neissemunde. The Czech Republic also recorded its hottest day ever, with a high of 41.9 degrees Celsius. Poland also saw a new all-time high of 40.5 degrees Celsius. Scientists say that such extreme heat and humidity would not have been possible without climate change.
Huge fire in the forests of Germany
The heat is so severe that a massive fire has broken out in the forests of Germany. It is a matter of concern that some forest areas in East Germany are filled with unexploded ammunition from the Second World War, making it difficult for firefighters to carry out operations. Several people were injured, including a woman, in critical condition after lightning struck a theme park in Sweden.
