Freshworks has acquired Israel-based AI startup Robusta Dev for an undisclosed amount to add AI-powered incident investigation capabilities to Freshservice.
Robusta adds automated outage diagnosis and corrective recommendations to Freshworks’ IT operations offerings, complementing FireHydrant’s tools for coordinating incident responses.
Freshworks plans to integrate Robusta into Freshservice, with engineers able to review and approve recommended changes before they affect live systems.
Nasdaq-listed SaaS major Freshworks has acquired Israel-based AI startup Robusta Dev for an undisclosed amount to strengthen its IT service management platform Freshservice.
The acquisition will add AI-powered capabilities to investigate technology outages, identify their underlying causes, and recommend corrective actions. Freshworks plans to integrate these capabilities into Freshservice and deepen their interoperability with incident response platforms such as FireHydrant.
Founded by Natan Yellin and Arik Alon, Robusta uses AI agents to analyse monitoring data, information from IT infrastructure, and recent code or configuration changes to determine what caused an outage. It also identifies how disruptions affect connected services and recommends steps to resolve them.
According to Freshworks, the technology is designed to reduce manual investigations, consolidate alerts, and help engineering teams resolve incidents faster. Engineers can review and approve recommended actions before changes are made to production systems.
“Our technology lets AI Agents do that effectively in large enterprise environments, where there are so many raw events that investigating each one individually would be exorbitant from a token cost perspective. We’re incredibly excited to join Freshworks, which gives us the scale and platform to bring that experience to engineering teams everywhere, while keeping humans firmly in control of decisions that touch production,” said Robusta founder Yellin.
Freshworks said the integration would connect incident diagnosis, response, and prevention workflows, helping businesses use findings from earlier outages to reduce recurring disruptions.
The deal expands Freshworks’ AI-powered service operations offerings, which focus on automating IT workflows and helping enterprises manage technology incidents.
Founded in 2010 by Girish Mathrubootham and Shanmugam Krishnasamy, Freshworks offers cloud-based software for customer engagement, sales, and IT service management.
The Robusta deal follows Freshworks’ agreement to acquire Toriiannounced earlier this month. The SaaS management platform helps enterprises track software usage and govern AI spending.
The company also acquired US-based incident management startup FireHydrant in Demember last year. While FireHydrant helps enterprises coordinate responses to software outages, Robusta adds AI-powered root-cause analysis and remediation recommendations.
On the financial front, Freshworks reported a $4.8 Mn net loss for Q1 2026even as revenue grew 16% YoY to $228.6 Mn. It also announced plans to cut around 11% of its workforce, or approximately 500 employees, as it sought to increase the use of AI in product development and automate routine work.
