From encounter to demolition, BJP’s own people are angry, can the political game get worse?
Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is the target of its own people these days. The anger of a senior government minister is increasing against the Uttar Pradesh government. This minister is none other than Sanjay Nishad, one of the biggest leaders of Nishads. He is also the President of Nishad Party. He has openly criticized the encounter policy of UP Police and appealed to improve it.
Sanjay Nishad has cornered his own government. He has termed the murder of Kamlesh Bind in the police encounter in Ghazipur as fake. Kamlesh Bind, accused of murder of businessman Vineet Rai, was killed by the police in an encounter on Thursday. Police claim that Kamlesh fired at the police team, in response to which bullets were fired.

Why is Sanjay Nishad cornering the government?
The family members of Kamlesh Bind, accused in the murder of Vineet Rai, are saying that the police beat him badly in front of the family, took him to an unknown place and conducted an encounter. Kamlesh’s wife alleged that the policemen dragged her husband and beat him. In Ghazipur, local people have taken to the streets against the police. The protesters also pelted stones at the police. Most people are calling this encounter fake.
Sanjay Nishad, Minister, UP Government:-
We stand with the government to protect our society. If you act as a predator instead of a protector, then we will have to think about this issue.
Why is Sanjay Nishad angry?
Sanjay Nishad is continuously criticizing the Yogi government. He says that first the police did a wrong encounter with Kamlesh Bind, now they lathicharged the Bind community, this is an insult to this community. He has appealed to the Yogi government to reconsider the encounter policy.
Sanjay Nishad, Cabinet Minister, UP:-
Bind community is in good numbers in Ghazipur and Jaunpur. We should understand that we lost many seats around Varanasi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
What does Sanjay Nishad want now?
Sanjay Nishad, Cabinet Minister, UP Government:-
Ghazipur has been lost. Jaunpur has been defeated. There are a good number of dots all around. Authorities are threatening to impose national security laws if there is agitation. Is this British rule? This is complete dictatorship.

Sanjay Nishad is demanding that there should be an impartial investigation into this fake encounter. He says that people against whom minor criminal cases have been registered are being killed. Bind society is in a strong position. BJP has lost all the seats around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lok Sabha seat, just because Nishad and Bind remain angry. It is the job of the court to give punishment on the basis of crime, this is dictatorship.
What is the opposition saying?
Opposition parties are continuously saying that Uttar Pradesh Police is targeting people of particular communities. Sanjay Nishad has also now come out against the government. The pressure on the government is continuously increasing. Yogi government is calling the encounter as its achievement but public anger against it is increasing.
What will happen if Bind Samaj gets angry?
OBC category in UP is more than 50 percent. The population of Bind community is between 1 to 1.5 percent but wherever this class is, it is very densely populated. This society is in a decisive position in the Ganga-Yamuna plains of Purvanchal. Sanjay Nishad himself has said that Bind community is in a decisive position in districts like Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Mau. This Bind community is considered to have a strong hold on assembly seats like Majhwan, Bhadohi, Gyanpur, Ghazipur Sadar, Jakhaniya, Zahurabad, Saidpur, Sakaldiha, Mungra Badshahpur, Mariahu, Handia and Ghosi.
Now Sanjay Nishad has openly come out against the Yogi government, due to this the problems of BJP may increase. Bind community is also traditionally a part of ‘Kevat-Bind fraternity’, both the communities are dependent on each other. If this community gets angry then BJP may suffer loss on more than 12 seats.
Why is only Sanjay Nishad advocating?
Sanjay Nishad wants to contest elections on more than 40 assembly seats in UP. He says that Nishad community is in the plains of Ganga and Yamuna, of which he is the representative leader. If they are given seats then the NDA alliance’s chances of winning will increase. He is putting pressure on the Yogi government to listen to him in an attempt to convince him. Yogi government’s stand on this encounter has been clear till now. Earlier also he had cornered the government on the alleged atrocities on the Nishad community and claimed that the daughters of the Nishad community are not safe.

Yogi Adityanath government has also been targeted by its own people regarding bulldozer action. Former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh speaks against bulldozer action every day. One of his statements has been in the headlines, ‘I had said in an open forum that I am against the bulldozer policy. Brij Bhushan Singh is the person who understands your pain and sorrow, that is why I said that it is very difficult to build a house. He also seems angry with Yogi government.
Brijbhushan Sharan Singh has expressed his dissatisfaction many times through poetry. His resentment in Balram, Bahraich, Gonda and Ayodhya can harm BJP. At present his son Prateek Bhushan is an MLA from BJP and his other son Karan Bhushan Singh is an MP. Other alliance partners also do not openly support this action.
