Jio has launched JioShield, which provides features like location tracking, SOS alerts, screen time and app-contact control to protect the family both outside and online.
Through JioShield, parents will be able to see the location of the child and get important safety alerts. You will receive an alert even if the phone's battery is low. In case of children, it can be decided which apps and contacts they use and how much time they spend on the screen. This means that their online usage can also be monitored and controlled. This same facility can also be used to stay connected with elderly parents and help them when needed.
It has also been kept easy to set up in mobile. JioThings will have to be installed in the parent's phone and JioShield app will have to be installed in the child's or elderly's phone. After connecting both the apps, parents will be able to manage features like location, screen time, apps and contacts from their phone.
JioShield costs ₹1,000 annually, which means an average of around ₹83 per month. For this, a lump sum payment of ₹ 1,000 will have to be made. In Jio's 10th anniversary offer, customers will get Jio recharge vouchers worth a total of ₹1,000. On this basis, the company is effectively calling it free. Along with this, 12 months of Canva Pro, which costs ₹ 4,000, and 28 days of Unlimited 5G upgrade will also be available.
The ₹1,000 recharge voucher will be in 10 tranches of ₹100 each and can be used on recharge of Unlimited 5G plans of ₹399 or more. The offer is available from 26th September. The phone of a child or an elderly person must have Android 10 or above and an active Jio number. JioThings for parents is currently available on Android, while it will be available on iOS from October 1.
