On the basis of her performance, Neeru also made it to the finals of the women's individual trap shooting event. Whereas Ashima Ahlawat scored 106 marks and Manisha Keer scored 104 marks. Both the players could not make it to the top-8 shooters who qualified for the individual finals with their scores, but their performance in the team event contributed significantly to India winning the silver medal. The performance of all three players contributed to the success of the Indian women's shooting team. Neeru scored 118 points, Ashima scored 106 points and Manisha scored 104 points, taking India's total score to 328. Although the Chinese team won the gold medal with 346 points, the Indian trio added another achievement to the country's medal campaign by winning the silver medal.
The backgrounds of these three players are also different. Neeru Dhandha is the daughter of a farmer, while her mother's sacrifices have played a major role in taking Ashima Ahlawat to the trap shooting platform. Whereas Manisha Keer's story is full of struggle and hard work. Manisha is the daughter of a fisherman from Bhopal and at one time she had to help her father to feed her 10-member family. Manisha used to work with her father in catching and selling fish. Despite this, she made her way in shooting and today became a part of the medal winning team for India at a big international platform like the Asian Games. Her elder sister played an important role in introducing Manisha to shooting. Her elder sister took her to the trials, where former Indian Olympian shooter Mansher Singh noticed Manisha's talent.
After this, Manisha continued to work hard to make her mark in shooting and moved ahead. The girl who once had to work with her father in fishing and selling fish to support the family, has now turned her hard work and struggle into a big achievement by winning a silver medal for India in the Asian Games. This silver medal of the trio of Manisha Keer, Neeru Dhanda and Ashima Ahlawat in the Asian Games 2026 is an important achievement for Indian shooting. Together the three scored 328 and gave India a place on the podium. Manisha's story in particular shows that despite limited circumstances, one can reach international level through talent, hard work and the right opportunity. This silver medal for India in shooting in Aichi Nagoya, Japan added another important chapter to the country's medal campaign.
