Alleged fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, who has been living in London, the capital of Britain for the last several years, has once again claimed that he is a victim of injustice done by the Indian government. At the same time, in another post, Vijay Mallya said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has admitted in the affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court that it recovered Rs 14,000 crore from him and gave that amount to the banks which were owed to him. He further said that and I want to say again that the affidavit filed in the court by the most dangerous criminal investigation agency, the Enforcement Directorate, confirms that they had handed over an amount of more than Rs 14,000 crore to the banks in 2021. Vijay Mallya clarifies on claims of being called a 'fugitive'

In July 2015, the Banking Securities and Fraud Cell of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed an FIR against him. This FIR was registered in connection with alleged irregularities in the loan taken by Kingfisher Airlines from the group of banks led by IDBI Bank. He was charged with criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and criminal misconduct. Subsequently, amid increasing legal pressure, he left India in March 2016 and has been living in the United Kingdom since then.
