Gang stealing electrical wires busted, two accused arrested.

Police station Sarainayat has successfully exposed the incidents of electrical wire theft and arrested two wanted accused. Police have recovered about 123 kg of stolen electrical wire and tools used for cutting wires from their possession. Legal action was taken against the arrested accused and they were sent to the court.

According to the police, accused Anand Gupta and Sushil Kumar Gupta alias Gajadhar, who were wanted in connection with the case numbers 146/2026 and 151/2026 registered in Police Station Sarainayat, were arrested near the newly constructed house of Anand Gupta in village Bhagipur. On the basis of interrogation and recovery, Section 317 (2) BNS has been increased in the cases against both of them.

Police investigation revealed that the accused had committed theft by cutting electrical wires on 23 May 2026 in Gotawan area and on 5 June 2026 near Kalidas Marg in Hanumanganj. On the basis of complaints received in connection with these incidents, cases were registered at Sarai Nayat police station. The police were continuously searching for the accused.

The arrested accused include 23 year old Anand Gupta, son of Jagannath Sahu, resident of Katka Jhunsi and 55 year old Sushil Kumar Gupta alias Gajadhar son of late Bhagirathi, resident of Bhagipur.

Police have recovered about 123 kg of stolen electrical wire and wire cutting tools from the possession of the accused. Necessary evidence has been collected by taking possession of the recovered material.
